A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft of firearms from the South Carolina Gun Company at 242 W. Wade Hampton Blvd., Suite E.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is offering a $5,000 award and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has announced a $5.000 reward.

The semifinals and finals of the Upstate Law Enforcement Memorial Softball Tournament winds up Sunday beginning at noon at Greer’s Century B Park on Brushy Creek Road. Early round games were played Saturday.
The Upstate South Carolina Law Enforcement Softball Tournament is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 23-24, at Century B Park, 3605 Brushy Creek Road.
The Greer Police Department is the tournament host. The first game is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday.

So are burned out streetlights, overgrown lots and barking dogs.
A city fireman was rescued by fellow first responders when he fell into a raging stream while helping save a person who was tossed out of his vehicle after it dropped into a washed out culvert on Memorial Drive Extension Saturday night.
“We had to use the ropes to get him out, but he’s OK,” Greer Fire Chief Chris Harvey said. Two firemen ran along the stream to rescue one of the passengers who was washed downstream after a vehicle, traveling south on Memorial Drive Extension, fell into culvert. During the rescue attempt the fireman slipped into the water.
Chandler Road and Taylor Road at Memorial Drive Extension will be closed through Oct. 31, according to the S.C. Department of Transportation.
Heavy rains and flooding Saturday evening caused a 96-inch drainage pipe to collapse and two vehicles, attempting to cross the washed out road, fell into the hole. The road is across Second Baptist Church.
