Lonnie "Gee" McGee, a Greer icon with his presence at virtually every significant event and man about town, is leaving Greer this week for Clinton.
Gee, as he is affectionately known to generations of greater Greer citizens of all professions, is moving to a care center in Clinton, according to a Greer Police Department release.
The Greer Police Department had extra help, if needed, Wednesday with Corporal Joe Phillips giving Gunner (last name withheld by request) a tour of the police station and patrol cars.
Gunner, 4, traveled to Greer, from out of state, with his mother learned from a friend here, the GPD accommodated requests for tours from young children and teens. The GPD and Greer Fire Department, in the past, auctioned a Police Chief or Fire Chief for a day at Big Thursday.
