Addison Homes President Todd Usher said the project began with a tree preservation plan for the site.
Addison Homes was honored for a Punctatum Place mountain retreat atop Caesars Head. Built in 2011, it was noted for blending a 1930s aesthetic with the latest energy-smart features including ultra-efficient design and ENERGY STAR-rated systems, appliances and fixtures.
“Punctatum Place presented a unique challenge: the owners wanted to re-create the ‘look’ of the site’s former, 80-year-old cabin – but also wanted the comfort, durability and efficiency of a high-performance home,” said Addison Homes President Todd Usher.
The project’s resource-friendly construction began with a tree preservation plan for the site (which was ultimately certified as a backyard wildlife habitat) and included advanced framing techniques to conserve lumber; utilized recycled-content materials such as concrete and insulation; and incorporated an abundance of reclaimed materials throughout the home’s interior and exterior design.
“EarthCraft professionals are realizing greater success than their peers because they are delivering a high value product to the market,” Ellis said. “We celebrate Addison Homes’ vision and their leadership.”
Addison Homes is at 12 Parkway Commons Way in Greer.
