American Airlines will increase the number of weekly seats offered between Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) and Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport (DFW) by nearly 14 percent this summer with additional nonstop flights.
The airline is adding flights between the airports on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays starting June 6. American’s new schedule will provide three daily departures on peak days to DFW from GSP.
“We are looking forward to once again expanding our partnership with American Airlines,” said Dave Edwards, GSP’s president and CEO. “Dallas-Ft. Worth is not only a popular place for passengers to visit from GSP, but it’s a good connecting city for those traveling to the West Coast and Mexico, especially business travelers.”
The airline will continue to use 160-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft for the two daily flights and 76- seat Embraer RJ-175 aircraft for the new evening flight. All flights offer first-class seating. Tickets are on sale now at aa.com.
American added new service between GSP and Miami International Airport (MIA) in December. In addition to Dallas/Ft. Worth and Miami, the airline also offers nonstop flights from GSP to Charlotte, Chicago/O’Hare, Philadelphia and Washington.
GSP has experienced significant growth in seats and passengers over the past five years driven by heightened demand. The airport has also experienced 14 consecutive months of increased passenger activity.
