The auction phrase of Big Thursday is the most exciting. Businesses and residents have contributed items that typically draw more than the product's value for Greer Community Ministries' biggest fundraiser of the year.
An autographed Greer football helmet, signed by all members of the unbeaten 10-0 and playoff bound Yellow Jackets may be the prize most desired at the 7 p.m. Big Thursday auction.
Greer enters the playoffs Friday, hosting Clinton in a rematch, at 7:30 p.m. at Dooley Field. Five more wins and the 2014 Greer football team will match only two other teams in the school's history to go unbeaten at 15-0 and win the state championship.
The 1989 and 1994 state championship teams are the only ones with 15-0 records.
There is limited seating at the live auction.
