Anthea Jones, SVP of Operations and President of BI-LO, presents a check to Keith Miller, president of Greenville Technical College, standing with Michael Byars, Chairman of the Board, BI-LO Charities and former president and CEO of the company.
Students enrolled in any career-oriented program of study at the college, including those offered by Greenville Tech’s Corporate and Career Development Division, will be eligible to apply. The scholarship will be open to residents of South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia, all markets where the food company operates supermarkets.
"We deeply appreciate this generous gift, which will make a college education possible for a substantial number of people," said Keith Miller, president of Greenville Technical College. "BI-LO’s interest in bettering the community is clearly demonstrated by the charity's support of education. We are very fortunate that we can count them as a partner in the effort to improve our area's job skills and drive economic development."
"BI-LO has long been committed to making a positive impact in the communities where we do business," said Carol Browning, Executive Director, BI-LO Charities. "Students who benefit from these colleges represent future business leaders for our communities and perhaps even our own business. We’re honored to invest in a brighter future for these future leaders and our community."
