Kevin Burnette has been announced as the new head football coach of J.L. Mann High School.
Burnette is a mathematics teacher at T.L. Hanna and was varsity offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach last year. His offense averaged 35 points per game the past two years while Hanna was 14-10 and made the playoffs both years.
He graduated Clemson in 2005 where he walked on and earned a scholarship to play tight end.
Burnette, a Blacksburg, Va., native replaces Brian Strickland, who resigned after coaching Mann for six seasons. Strickland’s teams were 13-53 overall and 1-9 in 2016.
Burnette is married to Alice and have two children, Gracelyn and Kevin.
