Creative Advancement Centers provide after-school scholastic and creative activities for Greenville County Schools from grades K-12, offering an array of structured programs that enhance the students' abilities academically, intellectually, creatively, socially and physically.
Begun four years ago at Victor Park Gym, the program has expanded to operate out of venues including 21st Century Community Learning Centers, area parks and recreation departments and churches. Local professionals, certified teachers, volunteers and college students, staff the Centers.
“Our program is a comprehensive model of youth learning and support to improve academic achievement for at-risk students through a community-school partnership,” said the Centers’ founder and President Dan Dudley.
“Our mission is to seek to provide a safe haven and a better life for today's children and to give them encouragement for the future through education and a positive vision,” Dudley said.
“Education plays an important role in the mission of our foundation as well,” said CBL President and CEO J. Thomas Johnson. “And we don’t know of any program more deserving of our support than this successful community-school partnership that benefits so many of our students.”
