The CBL Charitable Foundation awarded a $7,500 donation to the Greenville Tech Foundation’s “Quick Jobs For the Future” training program. This is the fourth year in a row that the CBL Charitable Foundation has given funding that will be utilized to provide partial scholarships to assist Greer area students who are in the program.
The Quick Jobs program is the first of its kind in the nation and provides short-term, intense, job-specific training that prepares a person for entry into career fields with openings in the upstate. Students are typically able to enter their new careers after three weeks to six months of training.
"Most of these students are unemployed, under-employed or re-entering the workforce," according to Steve Hand, Director of Quick Jobs For The Future. "Due to their current situation, they typically do not have the entire amount to pay for the course, equipment or uniforms. This scholarship eases their financial burden in allowing them to pursue the training or certifications they need to take a positive step to a brighter future."
