Arthur Craig, Greer High School class of 1964, was inducted into the Ring of Honor at halftime of the Greer-Daniel playoff football game Friday night.
Craig is the fifth member of the class of 1964 joining Clay Bradburn, Robert Lynn, Bobby Harley and Don Brown. Craig was presented the honor by Brown.
Craig is the 16th member to be inducted into the Ring of Honor, symbolic of the highest honor an athlete or coach can receive.
He was a four-sport letter winner at Greer. Craig was co-captain of the 1963 football team and captain of the 1964 baseball team. He played in the 1963 Shrine Bowl. Craig earned 11 high school letters, eight while at Greer.
Craig transferred from Byrnes High School to Greer in 1962 when his parents, Florence and Horace, moved from Lyman to Greer. As a sophomore at Byrnes he started on the football, basketball and baseball teams.
Craig played football at Clemson, and the Tigers won an Atlantic Coast Conference championship. He graduated with a degree in pre-med.
