D&D Ford's weekend move was finished and the doors to the Greer-based business opened as scheduled this morning.

Despite sprinkling rain and dreary skies, red, white and blue balloons marked the entrance to the new facility, which includes a 36,642-square-foot showroom and service department, at 13655 E. Wade Hampton Blvd.

The occasional sign of recent construction such as ladders and tools were still in place in some areas, but D&D's inventory of about 200 vehicles made the 3.5-mile move from D&D's former Wade Hampton address. Employees were recruited to drive the vehicles to its new facility.

The service areas were doing business as usual after making a clean sweep of the former service department over the weekend. Bright red paint steered customers to the newly built dealership.

D&D plans on holding a Grand Opening celebration, which will also mark the dealership's 75th anniversary in Greer.

The Quick Lane Tire and Service center adjacent to D&D opened for business on July 5.
