Mayor Rick Danner will serve for a fourth term.
Jay Arrowood will represent District 1 for a third term on city council.
Wryley Bettis will represent District 5 for a fourth term on council.
Incumbent Perry Williams will be challenged by former Greer Commission of Public Works general manager Jerry Balding in the only other municipal race.
Danner said the affirmation of city voters was a vote for the continuity of himself and council members who have been together for the past several terms. Danner will begin his fourth term as mayor with Betts while Arrowood begins his third term. "The core has been together a number of years," Danner said of council. "We're familiar with eah other and it's a good balance we have."
The election, originally scheduled for Nov. 8 last year, was postponed by the S.C. Department of Justice at the request of Greer City Council while the city conducted its redistricting process. The South Carolina primary is June 12 and the municipal elections agreed on July 24 to separate both processes by 30 days.
"We realize the turnout will be extremely light. My approach will be more subdued," Danner said. "I will talk to civic groups and engage with the public in the process."
Bookert will be seeking her first full-term as council woman. She won a special election when councilwoman Sandra Anderson died while in office.
Lindsey, 72, is retired from Michelin. He ran unsuccessfully in three previous elections – twice for mayor and once for city council. “I’m running on more transparency,” Lindsey said .
