The Burger King robbery reportedly took place while the Boiling Springs Fire District and others were gathering across the street for the 9/11 Memorial.
Walgreens at 1 The Parkway was the first incident at 8:15 a.m. Burger King at 5012 Pelham Road occurred about 8:30 a.m. The robber at the Burger King apparently ignored the large gathering across the street at the Boiling Springs Fire District for its annual 9/11 memorial.
The suspect entered the businesses, armed with a handgun and demanded money, according to the Greenville County Sheriff Department. The suspect reportedly didn’t get any money from the Walgreens, but stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the Burger King before fleeing on foot.
No injuries were reported but one person was transported from the Burger King for stress-related conditions, according to a Burger King employee.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned male, with a slim build and roughly 5-foot-8 to 5-10. During the Burger King robbery, the suspect was caught on surveillance video wearing a green shirt, blue jeans and a stocking hat. He had on a grey shirt during the Walgreens robbery.
The suspect is believed to be in an early 2000s model silver sedan, according to deputies.
The investigation is ongoing.
