Education Foundation awards grants to 10 area students

Two students each from Greer and Riverside high schools and J. Harley Bonds Career Center have been awarded scholarships from the Greater Greer Education Foundation. Ten students from the Greer area received $500 scholarships.

The awards were presented at each school’s Awards Night ceremony in partnership with the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce. The foundation is an agency that provides funding to area students to aid their higher education goals.
The winners and their degrees are:

Greer High School 
Quinlin Szucs –degree in Mechanical Engineering at Greenville Technical College 
Joey Surovy – degree in Culinary Arts at Greenville Technical College 

J. Harley Bonds Career Center 
Karly Walker – degree in Criminal Justice at Greenville Technical College 
Brittany Holloway– degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Greenville Technical College 

Riverside High School 
Lindsay Annette Weatherford –degree in Health Science at Greenville Technical College 
Cyril-Paul Valezuela Sabala – degree in Computer Science at Greenville Technical College 

Greer Middle College Charter High School Will have its first senior class in the 2011-2012 school year.
