Free flu shots are available for adults only and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the locations below, provided by the Greenville Health System. Wear clothing so the upper arm is easily accessible to the person administering the shot.
Dates, time and sites are:
• Saturday, Oct. 14: Noon-2 p.m. at Greer First Baptist Church
• Monday, Oct. 16: 5-7 p.m. at Greer Memorial Hospital Lobby
• Wednesday, Oct. 18: 5-7 p.m. at Washington Baptist Church
• Tuesday, Oct. 24: 9-11 a.m. at Eastside YMCA
• Wednesday, Oct. 25: 5-7 p.m. at Eastside YMCA
• Tuesday, Oct. 24: 4-7 p.m. at Patewood Memorial Hospital (drive-thru clinic)
Protection from the flu
• Clean your hands frequently.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
• Avoid close contact with sick people. If somebody is sick with the flu and they sneeze, the germs can spread three to six feet from the sneeze.
• If you do get the flu, avoid contact with others. Stay home and call your healthcare provider. Do not go to work or school until you are at least 24 hours fever-free without taking any fever-reducing medication.
