Gibson vs. Kriese for CPW is the only race in Greer municipal general election
Incumbent Gene Gibson will face off against Tom Kriese for the Greer Commission of Public Works seat in the Nov. 5 municipal general election. Filing for the general election closed at noon today with no new candidates, Steve Owens confirmed to GreerToday.com.

The three city council incumbents up for re-election – Wayne Griffin (District 2), Lee Dumas (District 4) and Judy Albert (District 6) – do not have opposition.

A two-week period will allow for candidates to file as a write-in. If that deadline passes without any filings, the council members without opposition will be declared winners by the municipal election board and be sworn in after the general election.
