Selected from the top fifth-grade graduates across the district, these students will be the class for the school fundraiser, “Are You Smarter Than a Greenville County Schools Fifth-Grader?” The event will raise funds for needed operational supplies for every school in the district.
The following are the student contestants and this year’s 6th grade school:
• Cody Giles, graduate of Mountain View Elementary and rising sixth-grader at Blue Ridge• Eric Kane, graduate of Woodland Elementary and rising sixth-grader at Riverside
• Stephone Dale, graduate of Sue Cleveland Elementary and rising sixth-grader at Woodmon
• Cassie Driggers, graduate of Bethel Elementary and rising sixth-grader at Mauldin
• Joshua Eccleston, graduate of Simpsonville Elementary and rising sixth-grader at Hillcrest
• Taylor Lomax, graduate of Sterling School and rising sixth-grader at Sterling School
• Nicole Salazar, graduate of Cherrydale Elementary and rising sixth-grader at Beck
• Lamaria Suber, graduate of East North St. Academy and rising sixth-grader at Greenville
• Lily Vu, graduate of Mauldin Elementary and rising sixth-grader at Mauldin
The fundraising event will be held at the TD Convention Center. Tickets are $7 in advance or $10 at the door. And includes a hot dog supper. Underwritten by Michelin, 100 percent of all funds raised will go directly to public schools. Tickets can be purchased online at www.HelpSmartKids.com.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for supper and pre-event activities. The game begins at 7 p.m.
