The "Fearsome Foursome" of Greer's offense are wide receiver Dorian Lindsay (12), running back Adrian McGee (24), wide receiver/running back Troy Pride (5) and quarterback Mario Cusano (11).

The Greer Yellow Jackets hit the field for their season opener on Friday night at rival Clinton.

The Yellow Jackets and Red Devils played twice last season with Greer winning both, including a 23-14 victory in the first round of the playoffs.

Greer Head Coach Will Young said his players are excited to finally play a regular season game after a successful jamboree schedule. "Everybody is ready to get started. The kids are all ready to hit somebody."

Clinton will have a different look than Greer fans are used to seeing. New Red Devils coach Andrew Webb has introduced the spread offense to the traditionally power running program.

Clinton defeated A.C. Flora in overtime last Friday, 30-29, in both teams’ opening game.

Clinton has three athletic wide receivers in seniors Tay Cook and Donaven Blackmon and 6-foot-5 Jalen Carter. Charlie Craven and Jasper Fuller will split time at quarterback.

"Formation wise, Clinton will be about the same as us," Young said. "They will line up in the shotgun which is unusual for them but Andrew Webb is a great coach and he's going to try and get his athletes in space."

The Yellow Jackets will look to their own array of athletes to score points against an undersized Red Devils defense. Running back Adrian McGee and wide receivers Dorian Lindsey and Troy Pride figure to have success with quarterback Mario Cusano running the show. All are seniors.

"We know one thing, these are two good teams with great traditions,” Young said.
