The new inland port is designed to improve the efficiency of container movements between the Port of Charleston, the upstate region and neighboring states.
G&P President Clifton Parker said the new "port without water" will give port customers more options for importing and exporting their products.
"The opening of the inland port in Greer will mean that shipping containers can be transferred directly to our trucks and delivered to our upstate customers," said Parker. "Expanding our presence in Greer gives us the opportunity to improve drayage services and offer more flexibility for our customers."
The 10-acre site is located at 2665 Highway 101.
