Commissioners and Rob Rhodes of Greer CPW were presented the Emily Hall Tremaine Local Government Energy Leadership Award by the South Carolina Energy Office. Left to right: Perry Williams (commissioner), Rhodes, Jennifer Satterthwaite, and commissioners Jeff Howell and Eugene Gibson.
The utility held a golf tournament fundraiser for the first time and hosted an in-house barbecue cook-off during the campaign.
The results reflect:
• $6,724 (45.68 percent) more than 2013.
• $836 included in donations from scrap metal (CPW and employees).
• $5,728 (36 percent) over CPW's goal ($15,750)
• 85 percent participation (75 percent goal).
It is the first UW Campaign for CPW General Manager Jeff Tuttle, who was hired in February. "The employees are a caring group of people and they are very generous contributing to people in need," Tuttle said.
Donations made to Greer Relief for emergency financial utility assistance are matched by Greer CPW. This fundraiser is separate from the United Way campaign.
