Colby Peeler was named the new head football coach at Colleton County High School Friday as he signed his contract at the school in Walterboro.
Peeler, who is a teacher/coach at Greer High School, said he is beyond excited to get to work at Colleton County. “I grew up in a rural part of Spartanburg,” Peeler said. “It reminds me a lot of the places I have been. It is a close-knit community. The facilities are outstanding.”
Colleton County finished 2-8 overall and 0-5 in Region 8-AAAA last season. In the five years Peeler assisted at Greer High School, the Yellow Jackets compiled a 47-13 record.
Peeler and his wife Pam have three daughters; Delaney (18), Kyndal (13) and Marli (5). Peeler will teach two sections of history at Colleton County.
