Work will be performed in Greer, Anniston, Ala.; Phoenix and Rocky Mount, N.C., with an estimated completion date of Aug. 12.
The U.S. Department of Defense made the announcement Tuesday. Honeywell and DOD have not announced if the contract will mean more jobs to any of the company's facilities. The Greer site was part of a Honeywell announcement last October that it would invest $25 million and hire 30 people the next five years.
The bid was solicited through the Internet, with one bid received, DOD announced.
The Greer plant maintains repairs and overhaul services for propulsion engines and component repair for military and commercial contractors, mostly in the aerospace industry. It provides machining, laser welding, tool making and other signature processes.
Honeywell in Greer is the source of the original equipment manufacturer for more than 300 part numbers.
