Adam Massey, a business teacher at Greer High School, is a candidate for the 2013-2014 Greenville County Teacher of the Year. Massey was presented a grant by the Greater Greer Education Foundation in 2012 for his Virtual Enterprise program, winners of 3 straight state championships.
Massey, a teacher for 6 years, has directed his VE Business Plan team to three consecutive state championships and fourth time overall. Greer is the winningest school in the history of South Carolina Virtual Enterprise. The team will compete in the national tournament in New York City.
Massey earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina and his master's of education from the University of Georgia.
Massey and the finalists will participate in classroom observations and interviews by members of the selection committee.
