Brooke Wade was one of four Greer players with a hit in Thursday's game versus Berea.
Berea beat Greer 5-2 Thursday in a Region II-AAA softball game at the most inopportune time at Greer High School Thursday.
Greer took over sole possession of the region lead with a win over Blue Ridge, 8-5, on Tuesday but quickly lost its foothold Thursday when it lost for the first time after four straight wins. Berea avenged a loss to Greer last month.
Four players led Greer’s at the plate with Danyale Davis, Brooke Wade, Baleigh Coker and Lauren Jarecki getting one hit each. Coker and Jarecki delivered a run-scoring single and double, respectively. Coker, who also walked, and Davis scored Greer’s runs.
Greer ends its week’s schedule Friday with a home game versus Greenville at 6 p.m.
