Lowe’s is not closing any South Carolina or North Carolina stores from among the 20 underperforming stores in 15 states. The closings will cut 1,950 jobs.
Lowe’s, based in Mooresville, N.C., has halved the number of stores it plans to open in 2012 to 10-15. It is opening 25 stores this year. Before the closings Lowe’s operated 1,725 stores.
