Greer’s Magic Moody and Southside’s T. McKelvey put on a scoring clinic in the fourth quarter of Thursday night’s boys basketball game.
Both players scored 11 points each in each team’s 15-point final period.
McKelvey scored a two-point and three-point field goal and all six of his free throw attempts. Moody made four two-point goals but made three-of-six free throws.
Southside beat Greer, 61-52, to drop Greer to 3-6 overall. Greer plays at Dorman Friday. The Yellow Jackets stepped up a notch in class when it played and lost to Spartanburg in overtime on Tuesday.
McKelvey scored a game-high 24 points and was supported by R.J. Campbell’s 18 and J. Shell’s 10.
Moody, Greer’s leading scorer this season, led the Yellow Jackets with 17 points and Cam Woodruff scored 12 points. He scored three three-pointers.
Greer was with a point, 25-26, after the half but Southside outscored Greer by three points in the third quarter and five points in the final period.
