Chandler Hash, senior guard for Anderson University, has been named to the Academic All-District III men’s basketball first team for NCAA Division II for the second consecutive year. Hash graduated Greer High School.
Hash has a 3.51 grade point average while majoring in nursing.
“We are really very proud of Chandler and everything he has been able to accomplish on and off the court,” said Anderson head coach Jason Taylor. “He is extremely well-rounded and works as hard academically as he does on the court. The honor is well-deserved.”
Hash, a native of Greer, earned preseason First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference honors and has started 46 consecutive games. He leads the SAC in scoring and ranks 13th nationally with a 23.4 points per game average.
To be honored, a student-athlete must be a starter or top reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average. CoSIDA District III includes the South Atlantic Conference, Peach Belt Conference and Conference Carolinas.
Just last week Hash scored a three-point basket with 1.1 seconds remaining to give Anderson its fourth consecutive game by rallying to edge Queens University, 85-84.
Hash led all scorers with 32 points.
