An IHOP (International House of Pancakes) is being promoted as the prime tenant locating in Greer at the corner of Wade Hampton Boulevard and Suber Road. IHOP will anchor a four-tenant complex that is being marketed by Greenville’s RealtyLink LLC.

IHOP would not comment and RealtyLink neither confirmed nor denied the report to GreerToday.com. However, RealtyLink has produced a brochure it is presenting to potential clients showing IHOP as the anchor tenant with additional 7,360-square feet of availability.

DineEquity of Glendale, Calif., is the owner of IHOP and Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar brands.

IHOP is just the latest of the fast-paced growth of the Highway 29 corridor within Greer’s city limits. Zaxby’s is the latest restaurant opening at 901 Wade Hampton Blvd., scheduled Monday, Sept. 24. Mike and Terra Godfrey of Greer are the owners.

The façade at Greer Plaza, where South Carolina’s first Walmart Neighborhood Market will be located, is undergoing an upfit. The parking lot has been paved and lights installed with landscaping next. Piedmont Plaza’s parking lot has been completely renovated and Tractor Supply’s façade has been upfit and its outdoor equipment has been moved to the side. Kohl’s will occupy the former Kmart building.

D&D Ford is within three weeks of its official Oct. 1 opening of its new showroom and nearly $8 million expansion. Quick Lane, an automotive service center in front of the dealership, will celebrate its ribbon cutting ceremony at 1:30 Thursday.

Monterrey’s Mexican restaurant will be opening later this month, George’s Italian and Lebanese Restaurant has opened where the former Capri’s restaurant was located across from the Greer Plaza.

Another national restaurant chain has also been observed at Greer Plaza studying the area for expansion.

When IHOP locates in Greer it will be almost equidistant between its store on Wade Hampton Blvd., near Bob Jones University, and Spartanburg’s location on Hwy. 29, a mile from WestGate Mall.

As of June, IHOP had 1,557 restaurants in 50 states and the District of Columbia as well as in Canada, Guatemala, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the United Arab Emirates. The restaurant offers 65 different signature made-from-scratch breakfast options and a selection of lunch and dinner items.

RealtyLink is promoting its site with 31,500 vehicles per day in front of the property and average household income of more than $60,000 within a 3-mile radius.

No timetable has been set for IHOP’s opening.
