These hot September afternoons, has completely disrupted our normal replacing the shorts with blue jeans in the closet routine.
Major League Baseball and Monday night football are both on, people are still riding around with the top down, and the leaves on the trees may wash away in the rain before they turn their beautiful colors.
So what is the other way to determine that fall is upon us? Well, when our local breweries and coffee shops bring out the Pumpkin Spice flavored drinks, it is official!
After I jumped up and down with excitement, I headed to The Stomping Grounds to taste Lisa’s version of the Pumpkin Spice Latte. It was served to me hot and with a smile. With or without the creamy whip topping, it is fall poured into my favorite sized mug. There is nothing like supplementing a season with your favorite flavor. Cinnamon and spice seem a lot more delicious than raking up leaves.
If you aren’t a coffee drinker, Thomas Creek Brewery has an ice cold Pumpkin Ale that will set the mood for campfires and fall festivals. This beer is crisp and is a brick oven baked pumpkin pie in a bottle. Brewed locally, Thomas Creek beers is served at downtown restaurants and will be served at Oktoberfest in Greer.
I anticipate the change of season and until the weather decides what it is going to do and our gorgeous maple trees turn orange and red, I can enjoy my delicious Pumpkin flavored drinks. I will continue to sport my umbrella and flip flops and dream about jack-o-lanterns and my favorite warm sweater.
