Marcus Lattimore's inspirational story of perseverance will be shared with youths in March and April at fundraisers and football camp.
The former standout Byrnes High School and University of South Carolina football standout, who has had his past two seasons end with severe knee injuries, will speak at the Coaches 4 Character event April 15 at 7 p.m. at Redemption World Outreach Center. Admission for students are free and a $5 donation for adults.
Coaches 4 Character’s mission is “teaching at risk youth, grades 4-12, the importance of education and character development.” Over 22,000 students have attended the 23 programs the past six years.
A “Thank You Reception” for Lattimore is scheduled at 5 p.m. on April 15 at the Nantucket Seafood Grill at the Courtyard Marriott. A $50 donation to Coaches 4 Character includes cocktail and hors d’oeuvres.

Lattimore will speak at the True Grit Fundraiser for The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club at the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center on Saturday, March 16.
The event begins at 5:15 p.m. with a private meet and greet with Lattimore. Doors for the dinner/program open at 5:30 with the program at 7 p.m.

MVP Youth Football Camp: Saturday, March 16, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Kroc Community Center. Lattimore will work with the kids. The $85 fee includes the camp, lunch and photo opportunity with Lattimore. Players ages 6-15 will participate in agility training, simulated game situations, offensive-defensive schemes, role modeling and leadership. The camp is limited to 75 players.

Lattimore opted to forgo his senior season at USC to enter the 2013 NFL Draft. He finished his career at USC with 2,677 rushing yards, which is sixth on Carolina’s all-time list. He is the school record-holder in both rushing touchdowns (38) and touchdowns scored (41).
