Le Jardin, an exclusive 65-home in a gated community will be located at the intersection of Brockman McClimon and East Howell Road.
The development is located at the intersection of Brockman McClimon and East Howell Road.
The 65 planned homes will range in price from $500,000 to more than $1 million for the fully constructed homes. Lots, mostly about one-half acre, will sell for $100,000 to more than $200,000.
The homes built at Le Jardin, meaning “the garden” in French, are described as English Tudor and French Eclectic and English Tudor.
The high-end community is zoned for R-15 (residential, single family). At a Planning Advisory Committee meeting Planning and Zoning Coordinator Glenn Pace advised developer Scott Milk that the original R-5 zoning would not pass the Planning Commission.
Homes in the $500,000-plus price range are in short demand in the Greer area, according to real estate agents.
The development is not in the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport environs with the flight path of airplanes routed around the community.
The private community will feature walking trails, a pocket park and homes shielded from roadways with strategic landscaping.
The property is in the Riverside school zone.
The Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Nov. 21. City Council’s second reading is Dec. 13.
