A memorial drop-in will be held for Stan Christofferson on Tuesday, May 29 from 5-7 p.m. at Grace Hall.
Christofferson, owner of the Great Bay Oyster House, died Friday night after over a yearlong battle with cancer. He was 54. He was diagnosed with bladder and lung cancer.
Christofferson was a pioneer in the rejuvenation of downtown Greer where he anchored his restaurant eight years ago at 109 E. Poinsett Street. The term Restaurant Row is attributed to Christofferson’s influence on the food and beverage industry in Greer.
Christofferson told family members he preferred people to enjoy dining at the Greer Station restaurants and support them. The Great Bay Oyster House will be open. It’s a day Greer can celebrate Stan’s life. The memorial will be informal with beverages and finger foods.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the Stand Up For Stan fund may be made to help with medical bills for Christofferson as well as for other families that are struggling with cancer.
Call Tammy Harley at GBOH at 879-1030 to make a beverage and/or food donation at the memorial drop-in. Grace Hall is at 108 Trade Street.
