The younger Hendrix, 34, an Army reservist, died last Friday on Veterans Day, when his 2006 Ford pickup went off the road and struck a tree on Donahue Road shortly after 8:30 a.m. He served on the Iraq-Kuwait border during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was recently deployed as a drill instructor in Columbia.
Hendrix, who lived on Elcon Drive in Greer, was employed by Pools Pest Control and a member of New Spring Church. He is survived by his daughters, Mikayla Anne, 10, and Kennedy Isabella, 6, of Greer.
