Max Metcalf has been appointed to the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Commission representing the 4th Congressional District.

 

Max Metcalf, Manager of Government and Community Relations at BMW Manufacturing, has been appointed to the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Commission representing the 4th Congressional District.

Metcalf is a 1986 graduate of Clemson University where he received a Bachelor’s in Arts degree in Economics.

Metcalf was the Director of Transportation and Intergovernmental Relations in the Office of Governor Carroll A. Campbell, Jr.; District Administrator for the Office of Congressman Bob Inglis; and Vice President of Public Policy with the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce until joining BMW in 2001.

In addition, he is past Chairman of the Board of Directors, Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce; past Chairman of the SC Manufacturers Alliance; past Chairman, Upstate SC Alliance; inaugural member, Clemson University Industry Advisory Board; Secretary-Treasurer, South Carolina Charities, Inc., dba/ BMW Charity Pro Am presented by TD SYNNEX; and a member of AdvanceSC.

Metcalf is a 1993 recipient of the Order of the Palmetto. He is married and has a daughter.
