Kay Young, who teaches piano and music, is accepting registrations for all the Parks and Recreation summer camps.
Registration deadline is June 10 at 5 p.m. for June 22 camps and July 10 for July camps.

• Piano Camp
Campers should be at least 5 years old
This camp is designed to get you off to a good start in reading music and playing the piano. You will discover and learn basic skills and techniques.
• The Juilliard Music Adventure
This camp will help you develop an understanding of musical skills from the most respected school of music, dance, and drama. You must have basic music skills to attend this camp.
• PSAT/SAT
This camp will provide one day of understanding the test, two days of verbal work and two days of math working with Princeton University software.
• Basic Math Treasures Workshop (ages 6-9)
This camp is designed to teach and re-emphasize basic math principles. Students will use hands on techniques, through computers and special software, to discover how much fun it can be to add, subtract, multiply and divide. (Level based on student’s ability.)
• Math Heads ages 9-16)
Become one of our Math Heads as you tune into the interactive TV. Campers will learn to think on their feet and enhance these essential math skills:
• Develop pre-algebra skills
• Solve word problems
• Make mental calculations and estimations
• Compute fractions, decimals, percentages and equivalencies
• Develop logical thinking skills
• Middle High School Math
Computer programs are used to assist and prepare students with their specific needs in pre-algebra, algebra, geometry and trigonometry fundamentals.
• Basic Reading (ages 5 and up)
Phonics and reading go hand in hand and this camp allows a student to go into different software programs they need to develop their skills and discover the wonderful world of reading and language.
• Language and arts
This camp is designed to enhance reading comprehension, vocabulary and writing skills for rising and current middle school level students.
• Writing camp
Basic organization and editing will be covered, along with techniques for peer review and improving sentence structure flow. Writing will be done during camp sessions, but will also be required as homework. For those seeking assistance as well as personal enrichment.
