Betty, our loving mother, Mema, and friend, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital at the age of 86.

She was born in Landrum, SC on January 2, 1933 to Melvin and Cora Brady.

She married Glenn Harvey Whitmire in 1953 who preceded her in death in 2000.

Betty lived a full life as a beloved wife, wonderful mother, and homemaker, all while working as a Sales Manager at Goodyear Tire for 29 years.

She was a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ and member of First Baptist Lyman.

She dedicated her life to the Lord and serving others.

Surviving:

Surviving are her four children, Donna Duncan (Rick) of Lyman, SC, Glenda Thackston (Rob) of Greer, SC, Richard Whitmire (Tami) of Lexington, SC, and Skip Whitmire of Columbia, SC.

She was Mema to 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Betty was predeceased by two sisters Doris Ann Brady and Joyce Eubanks and one brother Marvin Dean Brady.

Funeral Services:

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 12:00 pm at First Baptist Lyman.

The funeral service will follow the visitation at the church at 1:30 p.m. and will be conducted by the Rev. Bill Morris and John Brady.

Burial will be in Wood Memorial Park.

The family is at the home of Rob and Glenda Thackston, 1751 Abner Creek Road, Greer, SC.
