Celestine Corbin Smith, 85, of Taylors, passed away April 8, 2022.

Born in Asheville, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Leonard and Bida Marie Elliott Corbin.

Mrs. Smith was a longtime textile employee, with a quick wit and decades of service to Stone Manufacturing Co., a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was a faithful member of Clearview Baptist Church in Travelers Rest.

Surviving:

Surviving is her son, A.T. Smith, his wife, Catherine; one grandson, Thomas W. Smith; and one sister, Geraldine Holcombe.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Alvin J. Smith, a brother, Barbee Corbin; and a sister, Madeline Gosnell.

Funeral Services:

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 13. 2022, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel.

A burial service will immediately follow the funeral service at Wood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary before the service.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the entire staff of the NHC-Greenville; her niece, Donna McKinney; friends, Erin and Tony Hudgins; who each provided loving care to Mrs. Smith in her final years.
