Cynthia Jamieson Hall Ploof passed to God?s eternal home on September 22, 2013.
Born on November 20, 1956 in Paterson, New Jersey, Cynthia was the daughter of John Wallace and Joan Sweetman Jamieson. She was preceded in death by her father.
Cynthia had the God-given gift of music. She graduated cum laude from Furman University with a degree in music education and later a master's degree in education.
She brought her love of music into teaching in Greenville County schools. Cynthia was a member of the Furman Singers, and served as a student conductor. She also sang with the Quodlibet's Singers, performed solos, had leading opera roles, composed songs, led church choirs, and accompanied many musicals.
Cynthia now sings in God?s heavenly choir.
Surviving are her children: Jessica Leigh Hall Lancaster (Sam) of Greenville, SC and Owen Devine Ploof of Forest City, NC. Also surviving are her mother, Joan Jamieson; and four sisters: Elizabeth Jamieson Clark of Mill Spring, NC, Laura Gail Jamieson Hortis (Scott) of Greer, SC, Catherine Jamieson-Ogg (Charlie) of Blythewood, SC, and Michele Jamieson McKay (Sam) of Barnwell, SC. Cynthia had one grandchild, Avery Prescott Lancaster and six nieces and nephews.
She was dearly loved by her family, as a loving daughter, mother, aunt, sister, and grandmother.
A Memorial Service will be held at Memorial United Methodist Church, 201 Main Street, Greer, on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 2:00 pm, with the Rev. Dr. Cathy Jamieson-Ogg and Rev. John Rush officiating.
