Edward "Ed" James, 65, husband of Jan Chasteen James, completed his earthly journey October 4, 2015.
He fought a courageous 2-year battle against cancer.
A lifelong resident of Greenville County, he was the son of Eunice Waldrop James of Greer and the late Jesse James.
A 1967 graduate of Blue Ridge High School, he was also a graduate of Greenville Tech Automotive Repair Program. Ed was the owner of Ed's Truck and Trailer Repair in Greer.
He was a member of the Bailey Masonic Lodge, served in the U.S. National Guard, and was of the Baptist Faith.
Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Tammy James of Goose Creek, SC and Adam and Jenny James of Belle Chasse, LA; five grandchildren, Alex and Caroline James of LA, Dakota James of Goose Creek, Derek and Crystal Simmons and Dallas Simmons of Hanahan, SC; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy James of Gray Court; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Dennis Collins of Kentucky and Linda and William Hughes of Duncan, SC.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at The Wood Mortuary.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Grover Timms, Rev. Davon Harrelson and Rev. Dennis Collins.
Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
