Franklin Levi Thompson, 84, of Greenville, died on November 27, 2013.
Born in Piedmont, S.C., he was the son of the late Emil ?Buck? and Ruth Timms Thompson.
He graduated from Greenville High School and retired from Winn Dixie Warehouse. He proudly served as a Gunners Mate on the USS Springfield during WWII. He had four loves in life; family, country, John Wayne movies, and his dogs.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Thompson; six children, Ronnie Thompson, Tim Thompson (Karen), Richard Segee (Debbie), Rhonda Phillips (Johnny), John Segee (Donna), and Mark Segee (Amy); fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Thompson (Pat) and Tommy Thompson (Patricia); and his dear friend, Sandy Sandoe.
Mr. Thompson was predeceased by two brothers, Kent and David Thompson and a sister, Peggy Thompson, and son, Ricky Thompson.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, conducted by Rev. David Case.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at The Wood Mortuary.
