Franklin Esby Vehorn, 78, passed away June 29, 2021.

A native of Greenville, SC, son of the late Roy Julian and Mildred Helen Shearer Vehorn, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a retired sportswriter for the Virginian-Pilot and of the Methodist faith.

Surviving:

Surviving are his wife, Esther Louise Williams Vehorn of the home; two sons, Andrew M. Vehorn (Cristen) of Henrico, VA., Steven R. Vehorn (Jill) of Mechanicsville, VA., and Bill F. Vehorn of Sacramento, CA.; and four grandchildren, Mary-Catherine, Charleston Paige, Samuel, and Kip.

Mr. Vehorn was predeceased by a brother, Roy Michael Vehorn.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2021, at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Ron Carothers.

Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2021, at The Wood Mortuary.
