Gerald Allen ?Dog? Smith, 65, passed away March 9, 2019.

A native of Pelham, Allen resided in Eutawville, SC. He was an Assistant Boxing Coach at FML Boxing Club in Eutawville and ran the Community Center for Orangeburg County Sheriff's Department. He was an avid fisherman and loved his roosters and other animals.

Dexter was a great friend to Allen, they both coached at the center and he was always there for Allen and his family. We will never forget how special he was to Allen.



Surviving:

Surviving are his wife, Margaret J. Smith of the home; a daughter, Laura June Bell (Phillip 'Bucky') of Belton; grandchildren, McKenzie Burns (Brandon), Blake Bell all of Belton; a great-grandchild, Callaway Bell; two grandchildren, Dylan Ross and Lee Ross both of the home; a sister, Cynthia S. Black (Stanley) of Greer; two brothers, Tommy Smith of Greer and Randall ?Bo? Smith of Cross Hill; five step-children, Teresa, Linda, Leon and Danny Ross and Melissa Norwood; six step-grandchildren and 23 step-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, William Andrew and Edith J. Smith as well as his grandparents, Russell and Ella Faye Simmons and Aubrey and Mattie Lee Smith.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Barry Manley and Mr. Dexter Ladson.

Funeral Services:


Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019 at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home of his sister, Cynthia Black, 731 Perry Road, Greer, SC 29651.

We lost someone who was an amazing coach and influence to little kids at the FML Boxing Club in Eutawville. He loved kids and wanted the good out of everything. He proved children can change and make a difference in the world. The family would like memorials to be made to FML Boxing Club, P.O. Box 547, Eutawville, SC 29048.
