Geraldine "Gerry" Thompson Lynn Lunsford, 96, of Augusta, Georgia, formerly of Greenville and Greer, SC, passed away at the home of her daughter in Augusta, Georgia on January 26, 2024.
She was the daughter of the late Myrtice Willis Thompson McEntire and Gerald Thompson. She enjoyed Christian life and fellowship at Fairview Baptist Church as a lifelong member.
Gerry was married to Rudford "Rud" Lynn for 53 years until his death and years later married Don Lunsford until his death in 2007.
She will be fondly remembered as Valedictorian of Mountain View High School Graduating Class of 1944.
Gerry was also predeceased by her son, Tommy Lynn.
Surviving are two daughters, Joy Lynn of Greenville, SC and Yvonne Redd of Augusta, GA; three grandchildren, Kevin Taylor, Brandon Taylor, and Jessi Crippin (Kris); and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel, conducted by Dr. Drew Hines. Burial will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the mortuary prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Taylor, Brandon Taylor, Kris Crippin, Ray Smith, Hunter Taylor, and Matthew Taylor. Honorary Escort will be the James Crocker Sunday School Class.
The family would like to express gratitude for the loving care provided by Missy, Southeast Hospice and members of Caring From the Heart of Georgia (Melinda, Felicia, Susan, Jackie, and Letrice). Each did all they could to fill Gerry?s end of life?s journey with love and peace. Praise be to God for a life well lived.
