Herbert Marshall Howell, 81, formerly of 510 Hammett Bridge Road, died February 7, 2013 at National Health Care.

A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Herbert W. and Mary Moon Howell, he was a retired employee of Springs Industries after 34 years of service and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

He was a former member of Southside Baptist Church, where he was a member of the choir, a Sunday school teacher, and served as deacon and treasurer.

Surviving:

Surviving are three brothers, Dean Howell and J.R. Howell both of Greer and Boyd Wendell Howell of Taylors; three sisters, Allie McDade, Jeanette Kirby and Katherine Odom all of Greer; and a great number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Howell was predeceased by a brother, Herman Howell and two sisters, Corene Holcombe and Gladys Byars.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Dr. Tom Burns and Rev. Terry Strickland.

Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Mark Tony Howell, Jimmy Howell, Tommy Holcombe, John E. Odom, Jr., Bryan Swanner, and Kenneth Kirby.

Honorary escorts will be the James Crocker Sunday School Class and the Singles of Fairview Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held 3:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday at The Wood Mortuary.

The families are at their respective homes.
