Surviving are three children, F. Wayne Atkinson of Lyman, Sherry L. Atkinson of Ocracoke, NC and Donald Jones and his wife, Karen of Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Ocracoke, NC.
