Inez Hamby Bennett, 97, widow of James Ashmore Bennett, passed away December 19, 2020.

A native of Spartanburg County, she was a daughter of the late Paul J. and Clara Mae Greene Hamby; a retired self-employed seamstress and member of the Duncan First Baptist Church.

Surviving:

Surviving are one daughter, Carolyn Ann Bennett Cason of Greer; two brothers, Charles "Red" Hamby and James "Tee" Earl Hamby both of Greer; two grandchildren, Kelly Cason Long (Barry) of Greer and James Marcus Cason (Ginger) of Moore; four great-grandchildren, Jordan Long, Dylan Long, Sarah Smyre and Dakota Morrow and three great-great-grandchildren, Harper Long, Sadie Long and Archie Bennett Long.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Paul J. Hamby, Jr., John Harold Hamby and Fred Olin Hamby and two sisters, Frances Hamby Pearson and Clara Hamby Satterfield.

Funeral Services:

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2020, at Wood Memorial Park.

The body will lie in state at The Wood Mortuary Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 2:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Duncan First Baptist Church, 103 E Main Street, Duncan, SC 29334 or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
