Veteran
Jesse Ewel Crim, Sr., age 91, from Greer, S.C., passed away on September 14, 2021.
Jesse resided in Greer for the past 63 years and was married to his late wife, Jane, for 69 years.
He graduated from Clemson University with a BS in Electrical Engineering, and he has been an avid Tiger fan.
After serving 2 years in the U.S. Army, he obtained his Professional Electrical Engineering License and Electrical Contractor License in multiple states. He was owner and president of Crimson Electric and CEI and vice president of Jesse Electrical Services.
He has been a loyal member of Greer First Baptist Church for 57 years where he also served as deacon in the past. Jesse loved music, gardening, sports, and reading.
He was the total package of strength, toughness, compassion, sensitivity, and versatility. He loved deeply and gave generously. He had a witty sense of humor and would make others laugh just seeing him laugh. He would just as quickly crawl under a car and come out greasy as he would dress up and enjoy a play or an opera.
His versatility and determination to achieve were evidenced by his participation on the Summerville High School football team where he played both offense and defense, also grabbed his saxophone at half time to play with the band!
Jesse is survived by his three children: Jesse "Jay" Crim, Jr., (Darlene) of Greer; Paula Holcombe (Bob) of Anderson; Patty Ryan of Lexington; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Jesse has been an outstanding man, husband, father, mentor. Christian, friend, and grandparent. He will be greatly missed.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. at Wood Memorial Park, Greer, with visitation following.
