James Albert Carithers, 89, passed away November 26, 2020 at his home.

A native of Georgia, son of the late Walter Adam and Velie Tyner Carithers, he was a retired employee of American Hoechst and member of Praise Cathedral.

Surviving:

Surviving are his wife, Mildred Loretta Burden Carithers of the home; one daughter, Kimberly Carithers Cheshier (Kenneth) of Greer; one brother, Floyd Carithers (Emily) of Aiken; four grandchildren, Karla Cannon (Shane) of Greer, Kristin Woodard (Kasey) of Taylors, Laura Cook (Barry) of Tennessee, and Jim B. Carithers of Greenville; seven great-grandchildren, Drew Cannon, Kenzie Woodard, Chloe Cannon, Kolby Woodard, Klaire Woodard, Abby Stracner (Ronnie) and Austen Layne; and two great-great-grandchildren, Weston Stracner and Micah Layne.

He was also predeceased by one son, Dennis Barry Carithers; seven brothers and two sisters.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 1:30p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Praise Cathedral, conducted by Rev. Jerry Madden and Rev. Richard Porterfield.

Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family is at their respective homes.

Visitation will be held 12:00 until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church prior to the service.
