Lewis Melvin Taylor, 83, died March 5, 2017.
A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Bessie Johnson Taylor, he was a retired machinist, a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Doris Jones Taylor of the home; two daughters, Teresa Brown (Byron) and Tara Littlefield (Bill) all of Greer; one brother, Fred Taylor (Frankie) of Greer; one sister, Verdenia Cupka (Frank) of Greer; four grandchildren, Erica Scott, Emily Wentzky, Caroline Littlefield and Anna Claire Littlefield and five great-grandchildren, Ava Scott, Samuel Lewis Scott, Joseph Wentzky, Wilson Scott and Grady Wentzky.
Mr. Taylor was predeceased by two brothers, Calvin Taylor and Glenn Taylor and sister, Ileen Flynn.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Keith Kelly, Dr. Drew Hines and Mr. Ken Bogan.
Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Mack Bailey, Quay Scott, Joe Wentzky, Bruce Taylor, Bobby Dean Johnson and Terry Taylor.
Honorary escort will be National Health Care - Unit 3, Activities Department and Southside Baptist Church, Men?s Sunday school class.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Tara Littlefield.
