"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."
Philippians 2:3-4

Luther B. "Buddy" Smith, Jr., 92, of Taylors, South Carolina, husband of the late Betty Alewine Smith, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

A native of Elberton, Georgia, and son of the late Luther B. Smith, Sr. and Cleo Jones Smith, he was the owner and operator of the former Greenville Furniture Company, a member of Taylors First Baptist Church, and a member of the Tyler / Shaw Life Group.

Surviving:

His surviving children include four daughters, Martha White (Charlie), Meredith Cadwallader (Ted), Melanie Caldwell (Michael), and Marinell Keasler (Colton), two sons, Butch Smith (Shelly), and Brantley Smith (Carleen); 13 grandchildren, Caroline Carroll (Kevin), Whitley Smith, Luke Smith, Kyle Smith, Olivia Ankrom (Matthew), Sierra Cadwallader, Audrey Cadwallader, Garrett Keasler (Carley), Natalie Keasler, Blake Keasler, Carson Smith, Taylor Smith, and Evan Smith; and four great-grandchildren; Torris, Ivy, Anderson and Colin. He was predeceased by his grandson, Austin Cadwallader.

Buddy was a living example of selflessness and a true servant to those in need. It was his practice to give generously and often anonymously to help others as well as show kindness and love to his family, his friends and everyone he knew.

His greatest love, however, was for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
